Fundraiser for James Fisher

As a very proud mom I would like to congratulate JAMES V. FISHER for being selected as one of 16 students on the Big Island to represent Hawaii and our Country in Australia as a People To People Student Ambassador!

People to People International was launched in 1956 by President D. Eisenhower.  Many U.S. Presidents have followed the vision including John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard M. Nixon, Gerald R. Ford, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, William J. Clinton and George W. Bush.  People to People is a huge opportunity for young adults.  It offers educational growth, leadership development and college preparation.  People to People Ambassador Programs serves as People to People International's global educational travel provider, organizing and promoting opportunities for bridging cultural and political borders through direct interaction, unparrallel access, and unique experiences.

James was first nominated to become part of the people to People experience after attending the Nazarene Youth Conference (NYC) in 2011.  Thousands of students from across the globe attended.  During the conference he was also honored with a Leadership Award.  Once accepted as a People to People canidate each student had to provide 3 teacher and 1 personal referral, a personal statement of character then undergo an interview.  Results were then sent to the regional directors for review and selection.  JAMES GOT THE CALL!  His delegation will be traveling to Australia in the summer of 2012.  But....

JAMES NEEDS YOUR HELP to get him on his way...!

James needs to raise $7,000; he has raised $800 so far.  There are two ways you can help him raise the rest.  To infuse his personal cause with raising the money, he's asking everyone to "BAND" together to fight hatred by purchasing and wearing a simple green or orange eco-fiendly rubber wrist band which reads "DON'T CATER TO HATERS, BULLIES ARE FAKERS!"   They are being sold for a small donation of $2.50 each.  Too many people are being victimized by bullying tactics not just in schools but in the workplace all over the County.  His hop is to bring awareness to every individual that this is wrong.  But even if you are not "fighting the fight" these wrist bands are great if you enjoy late night walks... THEY GLOW IN THE DARK!

Another way to help is by sponsorship.  All he needs is 100 sponsors of $50 each or 50 sponsors at $100 each.  Mega sponsors are most definitely welcomed!  Once James returns from Australia all sponsers will receive a signed appreciation certificate, a thank you letter from James, a photo of him taken during his visit abroad, notes from his journal and of course a their own wrist band.  To be a sponsor is truly an investment into his future and indirectly an investment into ours as well.  As scary as it may sound, it's today's youth that will decide our fate during the golden years.  We need to take stock by vesting in thier future to help them grow as mature and caring adults in the path that will ensure the betterment of all our lives to come.

All proceeds must be in by March 31st 2012 to fully pay for his journey.  Remember a simple gift of $12.50 a month for 4 mohts will earn a sponsorship.  Corporate donations are welcomed and can quite possibly be a great way to boost any marketing efforts.  A single gift to a child can have rippling effects!  James receives high school and college credits, recommendations and special consideration to various universities and a jump start to global interaction.

About James

With a love of math and science he has been in the Robotics programs for the 3 years.  His team has participated in numerous competitions and has won a few awards.  He is also on the high school bowling team and as an individual made it to the "Individuals" competition.  A mature 14 year old, James has been commended by many of his teachers as being a perfect gentleman and a scholar.  One of his teachers utilizes his leadership skills to assist with the language challenged students.  His teacher has noted that since paring James with these students he has seen a significantly noticeable upward change in these students giving much of the credit to James for his patience and level of understanding.  The theme expressed by other teachers is "enthusiastic", motivated and focased; always willing to lend a hand.

Whether donating, investing or purchasing a wrist band, all donations will be received with a grateful heart and honored as a gift of love.
